Why you need a Stewardship Plan in Planned Giving

We have never had more data that stewardship needs to be part of your donor journey and fundraising plan from the start, not as an afterthought. The old paradigm is that when a donor makes a bequest the charity would be worried about their giving decreasing. Now we have insights from experts in Canada that in fact, when actively engaged, donor giving goes up when a bequest intention is secured. There is so much more potential now that planned giving is more major gift focused than just “legacy” strategy.
