Join Presenter Alex Bainov as he discusses how charitable organizations rely heavily on the generosity of their donors.however one crucial aspect is often overlooked. That is whether donors have executed Powers of Attorney (POA) and whether these POAs include provisions for making donations. This presentation will provide the basics of the Powers of Attorney and underscore how the provisions of a Power of Attorney (or lack thereof) can impact their campaigns.

Key Points to be Covered:

1. Understanding Powers of Attorney (POA)

 - Definition and types of POA.

- The role of an attorney in managing an individual's financial affairs.

2. Relevance to Charities:

- Why charities should care about their donors' POAs.

- Potential risks and missed opportunities if POAs do not include donation provisions.

3. Considerations when an attorney is using a POA to donate

4. Best Practices for Charities:

- Steps charities can take to encourage donors to include charitable donation provisions in their POAs.

- Educating donors and their families on including proper provisions.
