The CAGP Nova Scotia Chapter serves to support our region’s members: fundraisers and professional advisors who support their donors and clients to make strategic philanthropic gifts. We value developing collaborative relationships among those in our sector – to learn together, share wisdom, and make connections.
The Chapter regularly hosts in-person, virtual, and hybrid educational sessions where members connect with their colleagues and hear from expert speakers. We encourage anyone with an interest in gift planning to attend our meetings, which will help you to serve your donors or clients better. Members of CAGP are given a discount on the registration fee.
If you have any questions or ideas for the Chapter, or are interested in supporting the Chapter as a volunteer, please feel free to contact Glenn Stewardson, Chapter Chair at glenn@donormotivation.ca.
We hope to see you at our next event!
Mentorship Program
CAGP-NS has teamed up with AFP-NS to deliver a new joint mentorship program to our members.
The Mentorship Program is designed to match a junior fundraiser, with 3 years of experience or less, with a seasoned fundraiser as a mentor for coaching in areas of the field that they would like to learn more about. This program provides junior fundraisers, and those early in their careers, valuable one-on-one coaching, as well as the chance to learn more about the pragmatic side of fundraising, complementing the more formal professional development courses available. Mentees will be given the opportunity to hone in on specific skills they wish to cultivate, while mentors will play a leading role in advancing the profession of fundraising in Nova Scotia.
We are currently looking for mentors and mentees and invite you to fill out an application here: https://community.afpglobal.org/afpns/profdev/mentorship.
