Tailoring the Philanthropic Discussion

Laura will share her insights on how to approach the philanthropic discussion with different client groups and which gift strategies might be best suited for each group. She will explore some of the different approaches to charitable giving and highlight some of the advantages and issues arising from different types of charitable gifts.


Laura West

laura_west_photo.jpgLaura West is a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP and a member of the estates, trusts and wealth management group. She is engaged in a general practice in the areas of wealth management, estates, trusts, charity and not-for-profit law. Ms. West is the co-author of the book Charitable Giving in Canada. She has taught wills and estate planning at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law as an adjunct professor and she has lectured and written frequently on estate planning, charity and non-profit legal issues. Ms. West has been recognized by various publications as a leading lawyer in estates and charities/not-for-profit law.
